The opening
Truth, Part I
1. One who wants to attach himself to the Blessed G-d, to the extent that he can traverse with his thoughts from heichal to heichal (chamber to chamber), and to see the heichalos (chambers) with the eyes of intellect, must guard himself from saying falsehood, even by mistake.
2. It is permissible to alter the truth for the sake of peace.
3. (Those who are included in the) grouping of liars cannot receive the Divine Presence.
4. It is permissible for the tzadikim to act with conniving with a swindler.
