The opening

Advent to Christinas.

FOR THK SEASONS OF THE CHRISTIAN YEAR.

GOD, Who by Angelic Choirs wast pleased to announce the coming of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and didst, by the heralding of angels, proclaim, Glory to God on High, and on earth peace, good will towards men; Grant that we may so pass our time here in Thy fear, that at Thy Son’s second coming we may rejoice before Him with exceeding joy. Amen.

Through Thy mercy, O our God, Who art blessed, and dost live, and govern all things, world without end. Amen.
